Mazda has renewed with the AFL’s North Melbourne Football Club to add three years to the partnership that began in 1999.
The new agreement will see the Japanese vehicle maker remain as a Co-major Partner covering the AFL and AFLW teams until the end of the 2028 season.
The deal also includes naming rights to the North Melbourne Grand Final Breakfast, which will mark its 59th edition in 2025.
Kangaroos chief executive, Jen Watt described the brand as “a loyal and trusted” partner.
“Our relationship with Mazda has been a staple of our club for the best part of three decades and the partnership has seen the Mazda and North Melbourne brands become synonymous with one another,” she said.
Mazda Australia director of sales & marketing, Jarrod Gieschen replied that, “Tenacity and grit are defining characteristics of both Mazda and North identities, and these shared values have soldered our relationship, making it one of the strongest partnerships in Australian sport.”
Watt also pointed to the sponsor being a foundation partner of North’s AFLW program and indicated that would be included as part of the club’s centenary celebrations later this year.
