Ray White Queensland has signed a two-year partnership with Netball Queensland and the Queensland Firebirds, strengthening its presence in women’s sport and regional communities.
The agreement includes branding on the Firebirds’ 2025 playing dress during the Suncorp Super Netball season and a focus on leadership development.
Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew said the decision to partner with Netball Queensland was driven by the company’s long-term commitment to leadership, particularly through its Leading Ladies initiative, which promotes women in real estate.
“We initiated a project about four years ago called Leading Ladies, which focuses predominantly on females in real estate,” Andrew said.
“We’ve started to attract a broader audience, and we thought, what better way to double down on that than having a partnership with the Firebirds? A meeting with Kate [Davies] and her team really reinforced that, and as we went further into discussions, it became clear that this was not just a brand alignment exercise—it was an opportunity to connect with communities in a meaningful way.”
The company has existing experience in sports sponsorship through a three-year deal with the Brisbane Lions. Andrew said the success of that agreement encouraged the company to further explore opportunities in elite sport.
“We played last year in the space with the Lions. It was a resounding success both on and off the field,” he said.
“We’ve learned that sponsorship isn’t just about on-field performance. It’s about how the partnership resonates with local communities and how it supports the people who are part of those communities.”
The connection with regional Queensland was a key factor in Ray White’s decision to sponsor the Firebirds.
“We have some very good regional businesses, and we wanted to ensure we had representation in those local communities where netball is such a significant piece of who they are,” Andrew said.
“The participation numbers alone are phenomenal, and Super Netball as a league is going from strength to strength.”
Netball Queensland & Firebirds CEO, Kate Davies said “Partnering with Ray White is an exciting opportunity that will enhance engagement between our entire netball community and the 175 Ray White franchises in Queensland.”
“This partnership represents a shared commitment to supporting grassroots sport and building strong, connected communities.”
Beyond brand visibility, Andrew said a major focus of the partnership will be leadership engagement, with Ray White franchisees and business owners gaining access to Firebirds’ coaching staff and management.
“The new coach is an outstanding leader, and Kate and her team have been nothing short of extraordinary. We want to spend a lot of time with them, talking to our leaders,” he said.
Ray White sees value in learning from elite sporting environments, an approach the company has also taken in previous sponsorships.
“Our principal customer is the leader of our businesses, and then they have their agents and employees, who are our members. This arrangement connects us with a high-performance environment, and that’s something we’re really passionate about.”
While the Firebirds players will feature in marketing campaigns, Andrew emphasised that the broader alignment with netball’s leadership structure is what makes this partnership unique.
“There’s a lot of depth in their leadership ranks, and that’s something we’re really excited about,” he said.
Andrew also highlighted the natural synergy between professional sport and the real estate industry.
“We really like the philosophy of winning the weekends. Sporting teams are very much aligned with that—they play on weekends, and it’s our job to win the weekends too. We’re open for inspections, we’re engaging with customers, and we’re driving business. There’s a lot of alignment there, and it makes for a fantastic partnership.”
